Applications for student travel 2016

From 2 November 2015, a new online SSTS application process is being introduced for schools within the Opal network, coinciding with the introduction of the School Opal card. Schools outside the Opal network should continue to process the existing blue SSTS application forms and send them to the appropriate transport operators. Most parents, guardians and students won't need to apply for a school travel pass for 2016 if they have already been given a school student travel pass for the current year. Touch Girls 5th in State

Our touch girls are proud to be placed 5th in the state after travelling to Sydney to compete in the PSSA Touch Knockout. Their first game was a very tough one with the girls fighting the whole way but unfortunately finishing with a 8-4 loss. The second game results were in our favour with the girls boasting a 6-4 win. 2016 school funding allocations

All NSW public schools are currently being advised of their 2016 Resource Allocation Model (RAM) funding. RAM distributes funding based on individual needs of students and schools, and gives schools greater flexibility to make financial decisions. The way schools use their RAM funding will vary based on local needs. Some support will be for the entire school, and some will be for particular groups of students or individual students. Girls Touch Team Dominate!

On Monday the girls touch team played Ben Venue in the round 4 PSSA Touch Football Knockout resulting in a convincing win 12-2. The girls played like a well oiled machine which gave them the upper hand throught out the game. The next round will be at the Warialda Recreation ground next Wednesday 9th September against Moree. Excursion time!

Almost half the school is embarking on 5 days of adventure at the Gold Coast this week. Years 3 to 6 have boarded two buses this morning for an adventure of a lifetime. Sea World, Outback Spectacular and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary are just a few of the wonderful attractions our students will experience. We hope they have a fabulous time.... Read more

Round Three done and dusted

Yesterday the Open Girl's Touch football team travelled to Glen Innes to play in round three of the PSSA Touch Football knockout playing Glen Innes Public School. Our girls played extremely well bringing home a 5 -1 win. We wish the girls every success for round four.... Read more

Spelling Bee Finals soon

Every year our school holds a spelling bee which reinforces learning outcomes in class. Students are given a list of words and are asked to study these words in preparation for the finals. Spelling bees encourage children to not only learn their words but gives them an opportunity to display courage and willingness to stand in front of fellow students and community members to recite the chosen lists.
