PLAYGROUND SUPERVISION
1. PLAYGROUND AREAS / ROOMS / VERANDAHS
On arrival at school children leave bags on verandahs
outside rooms, and proceed to the playground.
Before dismissal of students, teachers are asked to see that
their class has been left tidy and verandahs
are cleared of bags, clothing, furniture.
Children are not allowed on verandahs or in classrooms unless
under the direct supervision of a teacher.
Children are not to be detained in classrooms during
recess (11.00-11.25pm) or first half lunch (1.10-1.35pm). A child may
be asked to complete work during the second half (1.35-2.00pm)
of lunch if under
the direct supervision of a teacher.
Morning Duty (8.30 - 9.00am)
Teacher to be present in playground 1/2hr before classes
commence.
Encourage children to put bags on verandahs and then move to
the playground.
Fixed equipment and the sand pit are not to be used. The
Flying Fox is to remain locked.
No sport equipment to be used at this time unless permission
is granted by the teacher on duty.
Duty teacher to set up tape recorder and to conduct the
morning assembly.
Recess Duty (11.00 - 11.25am)
Teacher to patrol playground with particular attention to
students out of bounds and inappropriate play.
Fixed equipment and the sand pit are not to be used. The
Flying Fox is to remain locked.
Children eating and / or drinking to remain in paved lunch
area.
Encourage children to keep area tidy and pick up any
papers.
No sport equipment to be used at this time unless permission
is granted by the teacher on duty.
Children are not permitted South of the Olive
Tree.
Lunch Duty (1.10 -1.15pm)
Lunch will be eaten in the classroom under the supervision
of the classroom teacher
Lunch Duty (1.55 -1.35pm)
All children to remain seated until at least 1.15pm.
Dismissal then at discretion of teacher.
Once children are dismissed, teacher to supervise play areas
until 1.35pm hooter.
Encourage children to keep area tidy and pick up any
papers.
Fixed equipment and the sand pit are not to be used. The
Flying Fox is to remain locked.
Teacher on duty near canteen is to monitor children lining up
for canteen.
Lunch Duty (1.35 - 2.00pm)
The teachers supervising the playground during
second half are to patrol playground with particular
attention to students out of bounds and inappropriate
play.
The second teacher is to monitor the concrete areas, and
to
encourage children to keep area tidy and pick up any papers.
Other teachers will be assigned duties such as , Library,
computers, and other nominated activities and are responsible for
supervising those students in their respective groups.
Canteen trading will finish at 1.45pm.

After School
Teachers are to dismiss students promptly at 3.13pm so
that they all have time to get to bus lines.
Staff are roster on for Bus and crossing supervision on Hope
Street.
Teachers in Geddes Street buildings will be rostered to supervise the
school crossing at the
Highway after school until all children have crossed the road.
The Principal, or delegate, will put out crossing flags at 8.00am
each morning whilst the
supervising teacher will bring flags in after school.
No child is permitted to leave the school grounds unless they
are either accompanied by their parent / guardian or have permission
from a teacher.
